Connecting Coaches Newsletter. This monthly newsletter is to provide resources and assistance to Coaches throughout the Province. This newsletter will be a joint venture with all 7 ASDC centres in the province contributing their knowledge and resources.
In this issue, our research discusses the consequences of Excluding Talent. With the winter season just around the corner and the start up of the new season andthe process of selecting teams, this is a stressful time for both athlete and coach.In this article, the recommendation to develop all athletes rather than "cutting" players should be considered for the good of the sport.
ASDCC, offers various services to athletes and in this issue, we present an introduction to biomechanical analysis using Dartfish. This program is a very useful tool in analyzing sport specific techniques, and comparing previous actions to current performances.
As summer comes to an end, as a coach are you ready? Various coaching courses are available throughout the province including Red Deer College.
Finally, Dr. Adrienne Leslie-Toogood, Director of Sport Psychology at the Canadian Sport Centre Manitoba offers coaching tips about Managing Emotions and Recovery, both as an athlete and as a Coach.
