The Hills are Alive a music, dance and cultural extravaganza, hosted in the beautiful Cypress Hills, Alberta. It is an amazing event that showcases the Metis and Aboriginal Culture and brings together many talented musicians, dancers, and cultural teachers, in a traditional setting of tipi's and trapper's tents. The event is open to the public (at a very small cost), and is appropriate for all ages, and musical abilities. Previous events have had ages 0-94 attend the event!!
Our dates for the event:
The Hills are Alive: June 9 -12, 2011
(Whispering Pines Camp, Elkwater AB)
(just below the Rodeo Grounds in Elkwater, AB). This means lots of parking on site!
June 8: Early Registration and Fundraiser BBQ
June 9-12: Workshops and Cultural Activities
June 9-11: Evening Concert starting at 7:00 pm
($10 at door if not attending The Hills are Alive)
The costs for the event:
The Hills are Alive 4 Days: $100
(includes all meals)
The Hills are Alive Daily Rate: $35
(includes all meals)
We have moved location and will be hosting the event at the Whispering Pines Camp (just below the Rodeo Grounds in Elkwater, AB). This means lots of parking on site!
The cost per night for cabins (on site): $15
RV parking is free but limited space, so please book early.
Hotels are available at the Elkwater Lake Lodge at 403-893-3811
Please pass on the information about the event to anyone who you think might be interested in the event. We do have a limited amount of space and we will be opening registration immediately. Please feel free to print the posters to hang up in appropriate locations.
