Our Mission:

The Greater Strides Hockey Academy is proud to announce that it is in the early stages of designing a world‐class, Aboriginal culture‐based hockey academy in Southern Alberta.

The Academy will cater to the high achieving student‐athlete, focusing on academics, athletics, health & wellness, and most importantly, Aboriginal grounding. The environment athletics will be a challenging quest for the high achievers who aspire to greater things.

At Greater Strides, we understand the obstacles many Aboriginal playersm face; peer pressure, financial, home, school, and/or team environments. Our mission at Greater Strides is to provide a facility, and opportunity, for high achieving student athletes to flourish, develop their skills and become the leaders that they want to be! Our cultural grounding, commitment to excellence and life skills practice will enable these young people to grow strong and prosper in whichever field they choose to establish themselves.

With the support of Aboriginal Communities, both the Federal and Provincial levels of Governments and the Private Industry sector, we hope to begin this change. Through a mix of public and private funding we are undertaking to build a facility, which will sustain the early, and long‐term stages of personal growth and opportunity. With home‐style housing, recreation facilities and cultural center the Academy will be situated the glorious foothills of the Rocky Mountains.

The Greater Strides Hockey Academy will certainly prove to be a world‐class academy for hockey, and other sports as we develop our operation.

A project of this nature it takes Passion, Vision and Engagement from all in our community if we are going to realize our dreams of “Building Tomorrow’s Leaders, Today.” Thank you for your support for the Greater Strides Hockey Academy.

Brantt Myhres, CEO & President
