| Office Manager - Position filled |
Position Responsiblities:
-
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Office Manager will be is responsible for the overall administrative management of the ISC(A)’s business operations and supervision of other office administrative staff to ensure accurate and timely provision of administrative services.

Full inputting of data to the Association’s computerized accounting system including the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll sub-systems.
-
Production of monthly and quarterly financial and administrative reports.
-
Monthly bank reconciliations on all Association accounts.
-
Prepare bank deposits to appropriate accounts.
-
Monthly remittance of employee payroll liabilities to Canada Revenue Agency.
-
Exercising appropriate judgment regarding mail flow, record keeping, and follow up of outstanding issues to ensure deadlines are met with respect to preparation of inquiries and reports.

Work closely with Community Sport Development Manager and Executive Director to complete reports as required by sponsors, granting agencies, government departments, and/or the ISC(A) Board of Directors.

Ensure administrative systems are effectively supporting the plans for registration, travel, accommodations, meals, etc.
-
Lead the design, development and maintenance of the ISC(A) newsletter, website, and other communications in collaboration with all ISC(A) staff.
-
Record and keep the minutes of the ISC(A) Board of Directors and AGM meetings.

Ensure ISC(A) administrative functions operate within allocated budget;
Qualifications:
-
A post-secondary degree or diploma in an administrative or business/office management area is preferred. Equivalencies may be considered depending on other education and experience.

Excellent computer skills utilizing Windows XP or VISTA, Microsoft Office, and internet environments are essential to this position.
-
Experience with records management, budgeting/planning/monitoring/forecasting is essential.
-
Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills are required.
-
Critical skills include the ability to work independently and as part of a team; Multi-tasking several projects simultaneously, a strong work ethic; and time management abilities.

Valid Class 5 Full Licence and good driving record is required.

Previous experience working with Aboriginal communities is preferred.

Location & Travel Expectations:

The ISC(A) Head Office will be located in the Calgary area and this position will be based out of the Calgary area.

Travel is not a core expectation of this position however periodic travel may be required for Board meetings and to assist with administrative logistics at conferences and out-of-office meetings.

Under the direction of the ISC(A) Community Sport Development Manager, work with Aboriginal community leaders, recreation directors, and/or coaches toward enhancing their coaching, athlete development, marketing, fundraising, and event hosting capacities.

Assist the Community Sport Development Manager to:
-
design, develop, plan, market, deliver and monitor sport development programs and services to Aboriginal communities throughout Alberta.
-
develop and maintain effective relationships with provincial sport organizations.
-
provide administration and logistics support for sport development programs and services.
-
develop and maintain a athlete, coaching & officials database
-
execute plans for registration, travel, accommodations, meals, etc.
-
ensure timely submission of reports to Community Sport Development Manager as required.
-
Ensure timely submission of technical contributions for the ISC(A) newsletter, website, and other communications.
-
Represent the ISC(A) at events, conferences, and presentations as directed, or approved by, the Community Sport Development Manager.
Qualifications:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related area (recreational sport, physical education, and/or recreation management) would be preferred but equivalencies may be considered based on a combination of experience, education, and technical certifications.
- Previous experience working with Aboriginal athletes, coaches, and community leadership is preferred.
- Knowledge the sport system in Alberta is preferred
- Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated computer skills utilizing Windows XP or VISTA and Microsoft Office.
- Valid Class 5 Full Licence and good driving record is required
